ZBC Marietta hosts Community Camp Meeting and Fellowship as part of 150th Celebrations

Marietta, GA – August 14, 2015 – The Outreach Ministries of Zion Baptist Church of Marietta will be hosting an old fashioned styled church Camp Meeting and Fellowship. The event will take place on Saturday, August 29, 2015 from 11:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. in Zion’s south parking lot. This Camp Meeting is a free event which is open to the community. It will be a time filled with food, fun, music and praise and worship. It will feature the following speakers: Zion’s own Rev. Roy Prather and Minister Kiera Dandridge, as well as Rev. DuJuan Morris (Paradise Baptist Church-Atlanta) and Rev. Al Zollicoffer (New Friendship Missionary Baptist Church-Marietta.) There will also be musical perfomances by The Bonner Sisters, Dr. Oral Moses, The Note Singers and others. There will be various vendors on site offering goods and services.

Zion Baptist Church, led by Pastor Harris T. Travis since 1992, has a rich heritage in serving as the oldest African American Baptist church in historic Marietta, GA. Zion’s theme for this monumental Sesquicentennial Anniversary (150th) is “Remembering the Past, Rejoicing in the Present, Ready for the Future.” Zion’s year-long celebration will culminate with three spectacular events; 150th Anniversary and Pastor Travis’ Retirement Gala on April 8, 2016; 150th Church Anniversary Worship Service on April 10, 2016, and Zion, The Play on May 21-22, 2016. As you can see, this will be a time of great celebration and they invite individuals of all faiths to join in any of the upcoming festivities.
